It all began in highschool Biology class when Danielle asked Casey to be her lab partner so she didn’t have to dissect frogs. Casey wasn’t doing it up to Danielle’s standards so she took over but Casey was there to make sure she had fun. Cue the montage of developing their own film in a homemade darkroom, ductaping a tripod to a skateboard for a dolly, making short films and laying in an orchard looking at the stars while talking about the universe. They had to get summer jobs (yah know, real life stuff) so thus their collaboration Mindcastle began. 

Directing has taken them around the globe filming for Major League Baseball, ESPN, and NFL films, with top athletes such as Derek Jeter and Floyd Mayweather.

Ask them about the time they sipped tequila with Guillermo del Toro whom they directed for the launch of his bespoke tequila for Patron. Or the time they flew through a snow storm to land on a mountain top to capture a hiker scaling a ragged peak for the first launch film for the ARRI Alexa Mini. Maybe don’t ask them about the time they had to turn down watching a baseball game with the manager of a team because they had a flight to catch. That one still hurts.  

They love creating worlds and being transported into them. They worked closely with Microsoft to craft stories for augmented reality for the launch of HoloLens and Copilot. 

Most of all they love working with people. Crafting stories that show the human experience.  

They’ve collected some awards along the way, an Emmy award for the Franchise, ADC Young Guns, YDAs, One Screen Emerging Directors and a Vimeo Staff pick for their short Film from 1994. 

When not making films you can find them traveling to flea markets around the world, Danielle toting a stack of books under each arm and Casey with vintage electronics under his. On rainy days, of which there are many, you can find them writing at various coffee shops in Edmonds or Seattle or taking their pup Dottie to the beach.
